Graduate with a financial planning qualification that will provide opportunities to engage with real-world financial problems throughout the degree and develop your technical and communication skills.<br><br>The financial planning profession helps individuals, families, and organisations to manage their financial affairs and meet their financial goals. Financial planners (also known as Financial Advisors) assist their clients to set their financial goals, prepare financial plans and implement recommendations. They also provide advice on: <br><br><br>QUT will prepare you to become knowledgeable in the fields of taxation, superannuation, insurance, and investment planning. The course is designed by industry experts to help you develop advanced knowledge, critical-thinking skills, and technical competencies to enable you to approach complex and unpredictable financial decisions.<br><br>Using real-world scenarios and learning experiences you will develop the skills to establish effective client relationships, analyse client needs, and present comprehensive financial solutions confidently to clients and other financial planning professionals. You will have opportunities to apply the knowledge and skills you've gained through internships and work integrated learning units. Industry events and experiences will connect you to organisations and help you to develop a network of professional contacts before you graduate.<br>In this course you will be first introduced to foundational concepts, theories and practices in finance, taxation law and superannuation and retirement planning. You will further build your knowledge and skills in insurance, risk, management and estate planning, financial services and law and personal financial planning. Throughout this course you take part in practical projects including completion of tax returns and analysis of complex capital budgeting problems, superannuation funds and financial regulation issues. Your final two units will focus on advanced investment and client relationship management and financial plan construction.
