This is a specialised foundation-level course aimed at graduates seeking taxation qualifications or to assist with continuing professional development. <br><br>The course can also benefit corporate accountants, financial planners and advisors, and members of the legal profession seeking a specialist taxation qualification. <br><br>You'll explore the complexity of Australian taxation including the Income Tax Assessment Act and Regulations, Goods and Services Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax and the Tax Administration Act. You will learn how these Acts and regulations apply to the taxation regime in Australia. <br><br>You'll attend guest lectures and events with leading tax professionals and tax organisations such as the Australian Taxation Office, Inspector General of Taxation and Administrative Appeals Tribunal.<br><br>What you will learn<br>Utilise specialist technical tax knowledge to solve tax issues relating to individuals and business in Australia.<br>Critically evaluate the financial and ethical implications of Australian Tax legislation, policy and practices<br>Gather and evaluate information necessary to taxation decision-making and procedural fairness<br>Disseminate accurate tax information to clients and other stakeholders, respecting confidentiality and professional ethics<br>Utilise computing and other technologies necessary for calculating tax liability and preparing tax documentation for individuals and businesses<br>Identify contemporary tax issues and practices and the potential for innovation and systems implementation<br>Explain how Australian tax law, administration, policy and practice is situated within the global context<br>Demonstrate appropriate cultural awareness in undertaking tax administration and practices with a range of stakeholders<br>Act with professional responsibility and expertise in undertaking taxation administration and practice in adherence to applicable codes of conduct
