Develop an understanding of the theory and practice of counselling with the Master of Counselling at VU.<br>You'll gain experience in adult, child and adolescent counselling, focusing your learning on:<br>counselling and psychological theory<br>counselling interventions and psychological therapies (for adults, children, adolescents and families)<br>practical skills through industry-based learning and placement.<br><br>On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:<br>Critically review counselling theories and contemporary professional literature to apply evidence-based practice to counselling interventions,<br>Investigate cultural and systemic elements relevant to counselling practice including inter-professional relations,<br>Appraise psychological theories and therapeutic approaches offered by helping professionals in relationship to the role of the counsellor,<br>Formulate evidence-based intervention plans for a range of counselling presentations addressing psychosocial issues,<br>Conduct a professional project through the application of evaluation and research principles applicable to the field of counselling,
