On our Foundation Entry degree in History youll discover how to become a skilled historian, combining the study of British and international history across a broad timespan - from the early modern to the contemporary. Foundation Entry degree courses are ideal if youve got the ability to study for a degree, but dont have the necessary formal qualifications to directly join an honours programme. It's a great stepping stone to a full degree. Youll approach history from many different directions. The themes covered in our teaching include: cultural history, economic and social history, gender history, international history, and political history. Youll learn to analyse evidence, formulate questions and put forward your own arguments and interpretations, as you become a historian yourself. History Foundation Entry could lead to a successful career in business management, the civil service, teaching, museum, library and archive work. Our graduates have gone on to further study, or careers in teaching and research, the museum and heritage sectors, journalism, public relations, central and local government, the European Union, charities and NGOs.
