课程简介
The Associate Degree in Arts is a two-year course, full time (or part-time equivalent), that provides you with opportunities to interpret human culture and behaviour from different perspectives and periods, to explore today’s big questions and learn how to support the social and economic development of humanity, andor to be immersed in creativity, performance and innovation. The award is designed to allow you to choose your path: it can be the first two-years of your Bachelor of Arts study, or you may like to enrol in this degree to pursue your passion and undertake two of the majors in the BA, or to extend your curiosity and try units from a number of disciplines. The Associate Degree in Arts gives you the flexibility to choose from subjects to build your knowledge and diversify your skills from a wide range of over twenty possible majors and minors in the Bachelor of Arts as well as many individual elective study options. In the Education Major, you will develop an understanding of educational theory and practice, particularly as it applies to adult learning in professional, community and informal settings. In the first half of the major, you will learn about the ‘what’, ‘how’ and ‘why’ of teaching. You will be introduced to Australian and international standards for teaching across different sectors, as well as the educational theory that underpins those standards. You will develop the foundational capabilities for planning, facilitating and assessing effective learning encounters. In the second half of the major, you will learn how to apply your foundational knowledge and skills to respond in diverse educational contexts and the inclusive teaching practices required to engage learners in varied environments. You will consider issues of equity and diversity in education, develop greater understanding of the social and emotional dimensions of learning, and create effective approaches to teaching in digital and rural or isolated settings. At the end of this major you will be able to plan and deliver education and training in workplace, community, digital and non-formal learning contexts, taking an inclusive approach to the policies and practices that are necessary to deliver quality education.
