Applicants to ALL pathways should have 104 points from at least 2 A levels (or equivalent). Typical offers may include: 104 points from at least 2 A levels to include A level grade C. Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate will be considered as a third subject RQF BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma/Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma grade MMM, CACHE Diploma with a grade C (minimum 96 points), 104 points from the Irish Leaving Certificate at Highers to include 2 x H2 grades (minimum grade considered at Higher is H4), 104 points from the Scottish Advanced Highers to include Advanced Higher grade D, 102 points from the Access to Higher Education Diploma.

The study of English at Cardiff Met forms part of the BA Humanities and Education Joint Honours programme within the Cardiff School of Education and Social Policy. The subject will engage with your enthusiasm for reading and literature and introduce you to advanced critical thinking in the form of theoretical practice. You will analyse a wide range of texts (including film and digital narratives) to explore the cutting edge of English as well as its canonical texts. A mixture of thematic and chronological modules ensures a good grounding in genre, context and period. You will challenge assumptions about the production of narratives and their relationship to questions of authority and identity.
