All Official Transcripts. Leaving Certificate of High School. IELTS (Academic) - 7.0 overall with a minimum of 6.5 in each skill. TOEFL iBT - 100 overall with a minimum of 25 in writing and 23 in each of the other skills. TOEFL pBT - 160. A-Level - AAB. German ab initio pathway: AAB. Alternatively, if you meet these grade requirements, but do not have academic study of German, the TestDaF Level 3 (TDN3, all four components) or the Goethe-Institute B2 certificate will be accepted as evidence of proficiency in German.

Our German & Philosophy BA offers you an exceptionally wide range of modules in both German and Philosophy covering literature, language, film, history, philosophical thought, political and social theory, as well as philosophy of mind, science and ancient philosophy. Our language modules cater for all levels, from complete beginner to native speaker. Year abroad in a German-speaking country offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in German-speaking culture and society and achieve language fluency. Through our required language modules you will attain a high level of proficiency in speaking, writing and reading the German language, whilst developing your knowledge and critical understanding of German culture and society.
