工作室艺术学士学位

艺术与艺术史系（ART）提供三个独立但相互关联的本科课程。进入文学学士学位的艺术史提供了在历史和文化背景下研究亚洲，太平洋和西方艺术的机会。工作室艺术课程通过学士学位为学生提供基础广泛的文科课程方法，或者为学生提供通往BFA的更具针对性的工作室专业知识。后者被认为更适合打算攻读硕士课程的学生。文学学士学位（工作室）为学生提供了广泛的，通识的文科方法，适用于该部门各个领域的广泛媒体。该学位需要42个学分，其中包括Studio和Art History核心课程（Art 113、116、175和176）的12学分
The Department of Art and Art History (ART) offers three separate but interrelated undergraduate programs. Art history, leading to the BA, affords the opportunity to study the arts of Asia, the Pacific, and the West in a historical and cultural context. The studio art programs provide students either with a broad-based, liberal arts approach via the BA or with a more focused studio specialization leading to the BFA. The latter is considered more appropriate for students intending to pursue the MFA at the graduate level.The BA Degree (Studio) provides students with a broad-based, liberal arts approach to a wide range of media drawn from the department's various areas. This degree requires 42 credits – 12 credits of Studio and Art History core courses (Art 113, 116, 175 and 176), 6 credits of upper level Art History courses, and 24 credits of Studio courses of which 12 must be upper level.Demonstrate grasp of fundamental skills and concepts relative to the practice of the visual arts, and basic skills and knowledge of several specific art media.Demonstrate a basic understanding and appreciation of the art historical contexts which formed our present approach to the visual arts.Demonstrate a basic ability to analyze the merits of art works and establish an individual sense of aesthetic judgment and standards applicable to the broad range of art.
