Physical transcripts of your high school and/or university and college transcripts should be mailed, couriered, or dropped off in person. The minimum academic requirement for admission to Emily Carr University undergraduate programs is graduation from grade12 secondary school, with five grade 12 subjects, including English 12 with a minimum grade of 'C', two other grade 12 academic courses and two grade 12 elective courses. The minimum overall grade point average required for admission is 2.5 or C+ or 67%.
International Baccalaureate (IB) -3 Higher Level and 3 Standard Level subjects. A minimum requirement of 24 points is recommended to be considered for admission.
TOEFL iBT : minimum of 84 out of 120 total points including a minimum score in each of the four skills, Speaking 20/30, Reading 20/30, Writing 18/30, and Listening 20/30.
IELTS minimum band 6.5, with no component less than 6.0.

The field of Communication Design is exciting and ever-changing. In our increasingly complex world, the thoughtful visual communication is in high demand. Here, you'll learn how to design strong visual narratives, messages, and experiences that respond to today's greatest communication challenges.<br><br>Your studies will combine theory and practice, exploring cultural, historical, technical, and ecological issues related to the field of visual design. This knowledge, combined with your hands-on studio courses, will equip you to develop an engaging communication design practice.<br><br>In the first years of your program, you'll take a required mix of core studio and critical studies courses. As you progress through your degree, you'll move toward more advanced and flexible electives that allow you to personalize your design education.<br><br>The communication design program encourages you to work collaboratively and engage with the ethical dimensions of design practice, in social, cultural, political and ecological contexts. You will develop an understanding of how your practice contributes to a culture of design in everyday life.
