An undergraduate degree, equivalent to a BFA degree in Art Studio from CSU Chico is required. No graduate credit is given to classes taken to make up any undergraduate deficiencies.
A digital portfolio of no more than 20 images of your studio work saved as a PDF. Title, medium, dimensions, and a date for each work must be included in the portfolio.
Submit a current and updated resume.
A Statement of Purpose: A written philosophical statement of intention (two pages, double spaced). This essay should describe the physical and thematic nature of the work included in the applicants portfolio, and its relation to contemporary art issues. The essay should also include reasons for pursuing graduate study at CSU Chico. (The applicant's writing skills in the discipline will be evaluated using this writing sample).
Three letters of recommendation from individuals qualified to testify to the applicant's capabilities and readiness to enter graduate study in studio art.
