The Department's minimum admission requirements for the MA degree are an undergraduate degree with an admission GPA of at least 3.0 on the 4-point scale from the University of Alberta, or an equivalent qualification and standing from a recognized institution. The admission GPA will be calculated on the last 60 units of graded coursework completed, or on the equivalent of the last two years of full-time graded coursework.
Official transcripts from all universities attended. These are scanned into your on-line application, with paper copies to follow at a later date.

Reference letters must be received by the deadline. Please ensure that you submit your application in a timely manner so that your referees can submit their reference by the deadline.
Letter of intent outlining why you want to teach voice, speech and text, where you see yourself after this program, and anything else you can tell us to describe your ambitions, skills, experiences, and interests. Please include a description of your previous work as a teacher and coach in a university, college or professional theatre context.
TOEFL iBT, in-person or special at-home edition - Total score of 90 with a score of at least 21 on each of the individual skill areas (internet-based) or equivalent. IELTS - 6.5, with at least 6.0 on each test band. Canadian Academic English Language Assessment - Overall 70 with at least 60 on each subtest.

We endeavour to foster in students a unique combination of practical and critical skills, with an adventurous, visionary attitude. Students are stimulated to examine the nature of theatre itself - its form and content.
