Courses in Art Education provide students with the knowledge and tools necessary to thrive as teachers in both K-12 and community settings. The Art Education program includes instruction in artistic perception, creative expression, historical and cultural foundations in art, aesthetic valuing, connections, relationships, and applications in art, visual art and education theories, and visual culture art education. Art majors wishing to pursue a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Art in the College of Education must contact the Art Department's Credential Coordinator to have their transcripts evaluated for courses required for admission to the credential program and to have their single subject competency assessed.
