The Associate in Arts in Art History for Transfer to a CSU from Los Medanos College, students must (1) complete the 24 units of Art History degree major emphasis requirements, (2) fulfill requirements of either the CSU-General Education, and/or The Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) (3) complete 60 semester units college transfer level units, and (4) obtain a minimum grade point average of 2.0. Note: students must earn a C or better in all courses required in the major area of emphasis. Students will be prepared to transfer with a broad and deep appreciation and knowledge of the academic discipline of art history, the chronological and cultural developments that allow them to make connections of historical events and artistic products. Perhaps even more importantly, students will be prepared to practice the disciplines of critical thinking, analysis and synthesis in reading and writing that they have been prepared for by the major and other transfer requirements.
