Acceptance as a graduate student by the Departments of Music is required. The applicant must have extensive performance experience after receiving a master's degree from an accredited institution.

The Doctor of Musical Arts in Orchestral Instruments is offered through the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, Drama, and Art which seeks to educate, engage, and energize its student body in a dynamic program that integrates classroom learning with real world performance, research, and teaching. The Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, Drama, and Art remains the preeminent Catholic center for music study in the United States and is internationally recognized for perpetuating the Church’s historical role in uplifting the human spirit through the study and performance of music. The music departments welcome applications from women and men of character, intelligence, motivation, and talent, regardless of race, creed, nationality, ethnic background, or disability.
