We require transcripts from all universities and conservatories that you have attended or are currently attending. We must have a transcript from your current school. An unofficial transcript can be uploaded to your online application, but please make sure that the transcript is legible and includes your name, the name of the institution, the degree program, and your GPA. On the ?Education History? tab of the application, you will see an upload button for transcripts after clicking ?Add Institution.? If you are offered a live audition, we will require official transcripts to be mailed from your schools in a sealed envelope (see bar to the left for mailing address and email address). All transcripts must be in English. Final transcripts must be translated into English by a certified translator, if applicable.Your counselor or other school official should submit a School Report with an official transcript that includes all your secondary school courses. If a question on the School Report form is not applicable to your secondary school, leave it blank. Recommendations and transcripts should be submitted electronically through the Common Application or Coalition Application website. Artist Diploma: TOEFL - 80 internet, 215 computer, or 552 paper.

The Artist Diploma is a highly selective program for artists who demonstrate potential for a major concert career. Enrollment in the Artist Diploma program will be limited to six total and it is only open to instrumentalists (including pianists) and vocalists (opera only). Those who have already received a D.M.A. are not eligible to apply for the Artist Diploma.The A.D. is a two-year program for external candidates and one year for internal applicants. The minimum academic requirement is a high school diploma.During the two-year residency, A.D. students will be required to perform two solo recitals, a concerto, and a chamber music program. A.D. students are expected to concertize and participate in competitions and festivals. Their schedules will accommodate professional travel commitments of up to four weeks during the academic year. The School of Music will arrange one international concert and will provide students with enhanced professional development and support, including management guidance and personalized career services.The oboe program at the Yale School of Music offers broad training in solo, chamber, and orchestral performance, as well as topics such as reed making and pedagogical instruction.Chamber music is an integral part of the program, and students also play in various ensembles and configurations in the New Music New Haven series. The Yale Philharmonia offers important orchestral experience, with a wide variety of repertoire and frequent opportunities to work with guest conductors.The foundation of the program includes private lessons and weekly oboe seminars. Students are encouraged to explore as broad a repertoire as possible, including performance of baroque and contemporary music.
