By earning a Bachelor of Music Education degree with an vocal emphasis at the University ofCentral Missouri, you'll be prepared to teach K through 12 music or to go on to a variety ofmusical careers. You'll develop your skills as a performer and conductor while enjoyingopportunities to study diverse topics in music, from musicology and theory to jazz andcutting-edge technology. You'll benefit from an outstanding faculty of performers,composers, and scholars who regularly appear on stage around the world. You'll have theopportunity to participate in a wide range of performing groups and take part in more than 100 recitals, concerts and other musical performances each year. At UCM, we commit our students to learning by doing. You'll have access to engaging learning experiences, including getting involved in student and professional organizations, participating in service-learning projects, and performing with our award-winning ensembles. You'll be given many opportunities each semester to perform in solo, ensemble, and theatrical settings.
