The Bachelor of Music degree allows you to select an emphasis in Instrumental Performance. Music programs at UCM offer a balanced curriculum of classroom studies and practical experiences. Students considering a Performance major should be in contact with the Applied Faculty member in their area before scheduling a Music Audition to learn more about the specific audition requirements for performance majors. Music History, Theory, Literature, and Pedagogy courses provide insights into the music of the past and present as well as the skills and knowledge required to succeed as a working musician in today's professional music world.Students receive individualized instruction with world-class artist-teachers in their primary applied area and have many opportunities to perform on and off campus in large ensembles, chamber ensembles, and solo recitals. UCM Music Performance majors compete successfully in regional and national competitions, and many of our graduates go on to Masters-level performance programs across the country.
