The applicant's undergraduate degree program should be in piano performance (or the equivalent). In addition to meeting the general requirements for admission to the Departments of Music, a student who wishes to major in chamber music (piano) must pass an audition before the piano faculty. This will include solo literature and chamber music, and sight reading. All entering graduate students in the Master of Music degree program in chamber music must take the Music Theory Placement Examination and the Music History Placement Examination.

Acceptable Test Scores

TOEFL - 80 Internet (should have at least 20 out of 30 in each category); 550 Paper; 213 Computer.

IELTS - varies by program, generally around 6.5

Duolingo - 105

PTE - 58

Application deadlines: November 1- for Spring; July 1- for Fall.

Rome School of Music, Drama, and Art of The Catholic University of America is committed to the highest quality instruction to assist in the preparation of creative artists and teacher who upon graduation take their places as leaders in the world community. The school offers the university community opportunities to participate in its performing organizations and concerts in solo and chamber recitals. With over 30 practice rooms, 12 of which have baby grand pianos there is always space for practicing your skills.
