The program trains students for careers as professional musicians -- performers in classical or jazz music, and composers. After completing the basic curriculum, the student chooses an area of specialization. Students may specialize in composition, jazz, a keyboard instrument, string/harp, guitar, voice, wind instrument, or percussion. They train in solo performance, coached ensemble, and conducted ensemble. Whether you desire a career as a professional performer, music educator or composer, you'll hone skills both practical and technical needed to be a world-class organist. Students pursuing the Bachelor of Music in Performance with an Organ emphasis learn from a nationally and internationally recognized faculty dedicated to the development of student talent. The instructors at the Fred Fox School of Music provide weekly master classes, enabling students to collaborate, perform and learn together. Students benefit from one-on-one mentoring that trains them to be exemplary performers. The school offers a variety of musical experiences, including more than 300 concerts and recitals each year, as well as invites artists, scholars and clinicians from around the world for concerts, workshops, lectures, clinics and master classes.
