If you are attending or have attended a recognized university or college and have a strong academic record, you will be considered for admission based on your postsecondary studies and your most recent annual average, although we will review your entire academic record. Program area prerequisites must be met at, or beyond, the minimum level required for admission from your educational system.
The International Baccalaureate Diploma, including at least three Higher Level courses and English HL or SL is required for admission. Prerequisite courses can be presented at either the Standard or Higher Level. For programs with a Math prerequisite, Mathematics SL or HL is required. Math Studies is not acceptable. A total score of 27, excluding bonus points, is required for admission consideration. More competitive programs require a significantly higher score.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic Module: The minimum requirement is an overall band of 6.5, with no band below 6.0. The minimum scores required for the different TOEFL tests are: Internet-based Test: Minimum Requirement: total score of 100 + 22 on Writing, Paper-based Test (discontinued in July 2017) : Minimum Requirement: total score of 600 + 5.0 on TWE

The Faculty of Music offers two degrees: the Bachelor of Music (Mus.Bac.) and the Bachelor of Music in Performance (Mus.Bac.Perf.) Students admitted into the Bachelor of Music in Performance begin their concentrations in first year, however, those admitted to the Bachelor of Music, with the exception of those admitted into Music Education (Classical & Jazz), Composition, and Comprehensive-Jazz enter a Common Year during which they embark on their core requirements and explore options to help determine a specific concentration in History & Theory or Comprehensive. Students intending to pursue Music Education (Classical) or Composition also have the option of beginning their concentrations in Year 2, after completing the Common Year.<br><br>The U of T Piano program boasts an excellent, well-rounded curriculum which provides an exceptional student experience that is both flexible and personalized. Our distinguished faculty bring a wide variety of pro-fessional experience as educators, performers, entrepreneurs, and re-searchers to enrich the learning environment. The depth and breadth associated with the courses allows for individ-ual nurturing and artistic growth. Small class sizes and a closely knit community with ample opportunities for collaboration across the years are highlights of the program. We pride ourselves in providing a multi-tude of performance experiences for our students. There are extensive opportunities for solo performance, chamber music, and collaborative work with instrumentalists and vocalists.
