At The University of Notre Dame Australia, our highly-respected Graduate Diploma of Midwifery degree is the entry to practice program for Registered Nurses who wish to gain additional registration as a Registered Midwife. Woman-centred care is the basis of this program, which reflects contemporary national and international best practice. The full-time 18-month postgraduate program combines theory, research, and professional practice so that students can embark on a career in midwifery with confidence. This is a blended-learning program which includes intensive on-campus study blocks and immersive online learning experiences, enabling midwifery students to undertake this program whether located in metropolitan or regional / remote locations. The professional practice component provides students with 27 weeks equivalent of full-time clinical experience where students apply midwifery theory to practice in a variety of quality midwifery settings.
