Nurses transform and make a positive impact on people's lives. Start your nursing career with us through the Bachelor of Nursing (Accelerated) program. This program has been designed to allow for more pathways and study locations to suit the needs of our students wanting to complete the course in two years. We aim to provide you with a meaningful educational experience, tailored to the many roles nurses play in our community. Our program embraces a primary health care framework. Our student-centered approach uses a variety of high impact engaging learning experiences, diversity of authentic assessments and contemporary digital learning technologies. Our aim is to prepare you as a compassionate, agile and resilient graduate with the effective problem-solving skills required for your role as a registered nurse. We offer a vibrant learning culture, our program uses a blended model of online learning supported by on-campus intensive periods, and a wide variety of Professional Experience Placement (PEP) in a range of healthcare facilities. On-campus intensives provide you with an opportunity to safely practice skills and demonstrate your knowledge prior to undertaking PEP. PEP allows you to apply your learning in healthcare settings throughout your degree. This blended model of learning will develop the knowledge and skills you need to offer the highest quality health care. Professional Experience Placement (PEP) allows you to put theory in to practice in a real healthcare setting. The aim of PEP is to immerse you in the professional culture of nursing and to gain a better understanding of the diverse roles of the registered nurse within the health care system in Australia. All Professional Experience Placements are completed in a full-time capacity, regardless of the study mode you are undertaking. Theoretical studies are held on campus and online and students undertake professional experience in healthcare locations, including rural and community, throughout Tasmania and NSW. Costs associated with travel, accommodation and uniforms are met by students. Please note that students are allocated to Professional Experience Placements subject to their availability and students may be required to travel and relocate.
