The Honours degree in Health Science is designed to provide students with the foundations necessary for research in Health Science disciplines and to gain greater expertise during two semesters full-time study (or equivalent). Candidates will be required to submit a research thesis on work undertaken as part of the honours course. All candidates will be required to study a unit in statistics and data handling and another unit negotiated with the School. Other requirements for the course include a literature review directly related to the thesis, and a dissertation. Students will be required to present their research work at a seminar. The Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) prepares students for a range of career paths in the health sector, including health promotion, administration, project work, management and research, as well as for entry to graduate programs in medicine, allied health and other health specialties. Our international exchange program offers opportunities to study at universities around the world, and it counts towards your degree. Exchange can allow you to have an affordable educational and cultural experience in a foreign country for a semester, or a full year. To facilitate this, we offer a range of scholarships and financial assistance. You may also be eligible for OS-HELP Loans or scholarship funding to assist with their airfares, accommodation and other expenses.
