The Graduate School requires an official course by course credential evaluation of all foreign transcripts indicating that, at minimum, the US equivalent of a bachelor’s degree has been awarded by an accredited college or university. An iBT TOEFL score of 18 on each section for a total minimum score of 78, IELTS score of 6.5, is required to meet the language exam requirement. The paper- or computer-based TOEFL exam is accepted by request only. Official reports of standardized admissions test results must be sent directly to the Graduate School by the testing service (GRE or GMAT). The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is used as one gauge of an applicant's ability to complete the program and contribute to the field of public health. We require applicants to take the GRE. A combined GRE score of 300 or greater is desirable. Acceptance into the program is based on evaluation of the applicant's record of scholarship, standardized test scores, professional experience and accomplishments, the required essay, references, and interview. Until the program has experience upon which to judge the ability of students to successfully complete the MPH program, the minimum standards of the ECU graduate school apply - a minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 2.7 or a senior year GPA of 3.0.
