An allied health background, demonstrated in one of the following ways:
A certificate of at least 10 credits in an allied health field from a regionally accredited institution, or
An AAS-T/AAS degree in an allied health field from a regionally accredited institution, or
A state-issued credential in an allied health field (valid within the past 5 years), or
At least 1 year of full-time healthcare work experience (or the equivalent) within the past S years
An associate's degree from a regionally accredited college or university with at least a 2.5 overall GPA
Acceptable degrees include the following: AAS-T or AAS degree in an allied health field, AA, AS, AR, BA, or BS degree
Completion of ENGL& 101 with at least a 2.0
Math eligibility demonstrated in one of the following ways:
Completion of MATH& 146 or another approved statistics class with a grade of at least 2.0 in the past 5 years, or
Current eligibility for MATH& 146 or MATH 136
Official/Unofficial High school transcripts required.
SAT 510 in Reading and Writing
ACT 19 for both English and Reading
IELTS - 6.0, Writing 5.0, TOEFL IBT - 64, Writing 17.

If you are a healthcare professional with strong interpersonal and problem'solving skills and a desire to help others, then Seattle Central's Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Allied HealthCommunity Health and Education may be right for you. With this degree, you will receive the education and training needed to promote health and prevent disease within communities.<br>The Community Health and Education program prepares students for healthcare and advocacy careers in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, colleges and non-profits. Learn to evaluate local healthcare needs, assess the factors that impact healthcare delivery and design programs to improve community health. Students will complete 180 credits of coursework (including credits already applied towards a relevant associate degree), earning a Bachelor of Applied Science in Allied Health. Completing this program prepares graduates for quick entry into a high-demand and rewarding career field, or to pursue graduate healthcare and education degrees.<br>Career Opportunities<br>The healthcare industry is growing substantially in our region and nationally, and demand for qualified community health educators is projected to increase 21 percent by 2022 according to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics. This bachelor's degree track opens the door for you to work as a Health Educator or Community Health Professional in a variety of settings, including: Nonprofit health organizations, Government agencies, Hospitals, Medical clinics, Colleges.
