Our on-campus MS in Communication Sciences and Disorders is a clinical degree that offers students the necessary academic and clinical training to earn eligibility for the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Academic and clinical experiences gained while in the Master's program will serve as the foundation for future clinicians to offer specialized services that address a wide range of complex disorders of communication and swallowing. In addition, it is our expectation that students will develop the collaborative leadership and problem solving skills necessary to address the ever changing problems of communication and swallowing experienced by children and adults.<br><br>The MS degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders offers 2 tracks (speech-language pathology track and non-clinical track). The speech-language pathology track is a 2 year, 54-60 credit hour program of study designed to train clinical speech-language pathologists. Coursework is face-to-face at ECU in Greenville, NC. Clinics are in the vicinity of Greenville, and NC for full-time internships. Some opportunity to go out of state, if desired. The non-clinical track requires a thesis for a research training component and does not train clinical speech-language pathology.
