program.
3. Grade Point Average
a. Minimum of 3.0 on 4.0 scale
b. Students whose total undergraduate GPA and major GPA are between 2.75 and 2.99 may be admitted on a restricted basis except in the following circumstances:
i. Admission requires GPAs of 2.75 or better in
1. a) the undergraduate major field,
2. b) education coursework, and
3. c) overall.
ii. Students with GPAs below 2.75 may submit supportive evidence and letters of recommendation. Students entering with GPAs below 2.75 are admitted on restricted status and required to obtain a 3.0 graduate GPA in their first 9 graduate hours.

There has never been a greater need for all educators to understand and appreciate the uniquenesses presented by children on the Autism Spectrum. Such a diagnosis in children is typically accompanied by related, complex concerns that all educators should know about and seek to accommodate in school environments. School district employment officials claim that professionals with background, understanding, and knowledge of Autism and Developmental Disabilities, by receiving UMSL's Autism Certificate, are at the top of their recruitment efforts. The need for professionals prepared by UMSL's College of Education team of instructors in Special Education, with a specialty in Autism, has never been more critical than now.
