硕士后证书计划的目的是使在另一个护理专业领域拥有硕士学位的注册护士能够获得获得家庭护士执业证书所需的知识和技能。在其原始的硕士学位护理计划中，学生所需要的核心课程将被评估为与所需的硕士学位后证书课程相当。将评估过去的教育和经验，以确定由于与GSU课程相当而可以放弃哪些必修的核心课程。该计划的完成将使证书持有人能够参加美国护士资格认证中心或美国护士执业医师学会的家庭护士执业医师考试。
The purpose of the post-master's certificate program is to enable registered nurses who hold a master degree in another nursing specialty area to gain the knowledge and skills required for certification as a family nurse practitioner. Core courses required for students in their original master degree nursing program will be evaluated for equivalency to the required post-master's certificate courses. Past education and experience will be evaluated to determine which required core courses may be waived because of equivalency with GSU courses. Completion of the program will enable the certificate holder to take the American Nurses Credentialing Center's or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners' examination for family nurse practitioner.
