Applicants who have earned a three-year baccalaureate degree from an international institution, may be considered for admission. Applicants with a three-year baccalaureate degree in progress at the time of application are not eligible for graduate consideration.
A minimum U.S. equivalent GPA (grade point average) of 3.0 (B grade or about 80%) or higher is required to be considered for admission.

The Master of Arts (M.A.) in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences education program in speech-language pathology (residential) at San Diego State University is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard #310, Rockville, Maryland 20850, 800-498-2071 or 301-296-5700.<br>The School of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences offers a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Speech-Language Pathology, the entry level degree for the professions of speech-language pathology and speech and hearing science.<br>Speech-Language Pathology M.A. students are admitted only in the Fall term of each year. Undergraduate preparation in speech, language, and hearing sciences is required in order to be eligible for admission to the M.A. program. The program is 5 semesters (two academic years and the intervening summer).<br><br>The MA program in speech-language pathology is full-time and intensive. Most students do not have jobs while enrolled in the program, and rely instead on financial aid. Some students do hold 5- to 10-hour/week positions, though these are generally on campus. Due to the scheduling and sequencing of the MA courses, we do not allow students to complete the program on a part-time basis.
