Successful applicants are expected to have some quality improvement experience with an excellent record of scholarship and an aptitude for quality improvement and patient safety. Applicants should have graduated from a four-year undergraduate program with at least a B+ standing in the last two years of study from an accredited university. Due to the nature of the program, preference will normally be given to applicants with Canadian or permanent resident status within Canada, who are employed and who can undertake a substantial quality improvement or patient safety project in their workplace.\
Transcripts: Transcripts must be scanned and uploaded to the SGS application website from all post-secondary institutions. Official transcripts will be required if you are selected to move forward to the interview stage.

Letter of Intent: The Letter of Intent outlines aspirations, learning goals, research interests, and experience relevant to quality improvement and patient safety. (max 1.5 pages)
IELTS - Minimum required score 7.0 (Academic) with at least 6.5 for each component.
TOEFL IBT - Overall Score - 93, Writing and Speaking- 22, TOEFL Paper-based Test and TWE - Overall Score 580 TWE 5

The Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME) is training Canada's future health leaders and researchers through its outstanding degree programs.<br>At IHPME, you have the opportunity to learn within innovative research and professional programs that span a wide range of disciplines. IHPME offers the largest graduate programs in health services research, clinical epidemiology, and healthcare research in Canada. Courses are delivered during traditional class hours.<br>The MSc in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (QIPS) is designed for all healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, allied health, improvement specialists, and administrators. QIPS prepares students with the theory, knowledge, and practical skills required to design, lead, and evaluate transformative quality improvement and patient safety initiatives at the micro, meso, and macro levels. QIPS provides students with a unique opportunity to apply their course based learning in real time as they develop and lead a comprehensive improvement project within and beyond their professional context. The program is intentionally designed to synchronize in class learning and assignments, faculty, mentor and peer to peer feedback with students project progress. Students complete the program with an enhanced understanding and critical appreciation of how to successfully navigate the complexity and uncertainty of healthcare to make lasting improvement.
