The average cumulative GPA for admitted students is 3.7 on a 4.0 scale.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Completion of prerequisite coursework with at least a C or better in each course and minimum prerequisite GPA of 3.0.
Advanced placement (AP) courses will be accepted if they were approved by the applicant's primary undergraduate institution and appear on the official transcript.
Courses taken on a pass-fail basis or any non-credit courses (except AP), will not count toward the prerequisite GPA.
Prerequisites include:
Biology: One biology course with lab (3-4 credits)
Human Anatomy: This requirement can be met with a one-year sequence combining human anatomy and physiology (6-8 credits), by a single course in human anatomy (3-4 credits), or by a vertebrate morphology course if human anatomy is unavailable at your institution. This course must include a lab.
Human Physiology: This requirement can be met with a one-year sequence combining human anatomy and physiology (6-8 credits), by a single course in human physiology (3-4 credits), or by an animal physiology course if human physiology is unavailable at your institution. This course must include a lab.
Chemistry: Standard one-year sequence with labs (6-8 credits)
Physics: Standard one-year sequence with labs (6-8 credits)
Behavioral Sciences: Two courses (6 credits) emphasizing human interactions in some way. Acceptable courses are usually in the areas of psychology, sociology, or cultural anthropology.
Statistics: One introductory course (3-4 credits) to include central tendency, variability, correlation, and parametric statistics through analysis of variance. This course should be taken through the math or science department.
Completion of baccalaureate degree at an accredited college or university by the time of matriculation into the DPT program, unless one of the following regarding UIndy undergrads applies (Pre-PT)
Evidence that the applicant is a UIndy undergraduate student who has or will complete the core requirements of their UG degree and at least 90 credit hours by the end of their junior year prior to matriculation into the DPT program (3+3 track).
UIndy students earning direct admission/early assurance to the DPT program must meet specific thresholds during their undergraduate education.
Applicants for whom English is their 2nd language must score a 100 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Internet Based Test.

The Doctor of Physical Therapy program at UIndy's Krannert School of Physical Therapy (KSPT) is a 3-year, full-time traditional campus-based program that primarily combines in-person and virtual instruction with real-world clinical experiences to prepare students for a career as a physical therapist.<br>Classes take place on the UIndy campus weekdays throughout each semester, including summers. Around 15% of program credits are now offered through virtual, online coursework to provide students with greater flexibility in their weekly schedules to allow for additional clinical and professional engagement.<br>Graduates of our professional, entry-level DPT program receive a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and are eligible to apply for licensure across the United States.
