To be considered for the admission, you need:

Successful completion of a graduate level statistics course prior to application
A Master's degree in health informatics or related field from an accredited university
International applicants must also submit GRE scores as part of their application.

Three letters of reference - At least two of these appraisals should be from academics who know you well enough to evaluate your capacity to conduct independent scholarly work.
Letter of Intent (3 page limit) – The letter should address how you will fit with the program: specifically, research interests and/or work background, and your expectations in terms of personal and professional learning.
CV/resume - This must include your education background, employment history, professional/academic affiliations, and other achievements such as publications or awards.
Sample publications or conference proceedings (if available) – For each publication or proceeding, please include the full citation, indicate the percentage (%) contribution, your role, and an electronic copy (preferably PDF).
Thesis (if available) – For the thesis, please provide an electronic copy (preferably PDF).

Our graduate programs in health information science nourish the next generation of health informatics experts. Our world-class faculty, students and researchers are making an impact with a focus on the planning, design, implementation and evaluation of health information systems in diverse health care settings. We offer a PhD in Health Informatics program which will prepare scholars to discover and extend their scientific knowledge and advance the science and practice of health informatics. Many of our PhD graduates: Assume leadership roles in informatics and health care Conquer new knowledge through research and testing of theory Contribute solutions that advance health care in a culturally diverse society Translate research findings into practice and policy at multiple levels Reflect an interdisciplinary perspective in research and scholarly endeavours The program is built around our core interdisciplinary specializations: Design and structure of health information systems Implementation and evaluation of health information systems Health information systems applications.
