A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a solid record of academic performance in coursework
You must have at least a 3.0 GPA from your undergraduate program to apply, although the lowest GPA for our accepted students is generally closer to a 3.5. For our Fall 2019 class, GPAs of those accepted ranged between 3.49-4.0.
Your personal statement should be no longer than two pages and focus on three areas:
Your reason for pursuing a career in speech-language pathology,
The personal qualities you possess that you will apply to the rigors of a graduate program, and
A challenge you have had in your life and how you successfully met
that challenge.
Two letters of recommendation from persons who can discuss your past academic work and your potential to succeed at graduate-level work
A third letter of recommendation may be added from an individual who can comment on your interpersonal skills, like a former employer
GREs and MATs will no longer be required of URI students with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and a GPA of 3.5 or higher in their major. GREs and MATs will also no longer be required of students who already hold a post baccalaureate degree in another discipline.

TOEFL iBT - An overall score of 80 or above
Reading: 19 ,Writing: 18, Listening: 17, Speaking: 18
The minimum score on the Paper-based TOEFL is 550.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS): All scores must be sent directly to URI. Required minimum score of 6.5, AND minimum scores in the following areas:
Reading: 6.5, Writing: 6.5, Listening: 6.5, Speaking: 6.5
Duolingo English Test: Required minimum score of 105
International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Required minimum score of 6.5. IELTS scores must be sent directly to URI.
