The EPGS program prepares international students for success in U.S. graduate programs. After participating in the program, students will feel more confident communicating in spoken and written English in their graduate programs. Faculty in the program use authentic materials, such as graduate school lectures and texts, to help students learn to critically analyze and respond to complex academic concepts. The program teaches students the conventions of academic communication in U.S. graduate programs, which gives students the confidence to communicate effectively in their graduate courses. During the summer of 2021, all courses will be offered online. The courses will be primarily asynchronous, meaning that students will be able to independently complete most course work on their own schedule. However, each course has one synchronous (live) session each week. The live course sessions will be scheduled to accommodate students' international and domestic time zones.
