High school students applying to undergraduate programs at the University of New Brunswick must meet the following three sets of requirements in order to be considered for admission.
IB: Students who complete higher level IB courses and achieve a score of 5, 6 or 7 may be eligible for advanced standing and/or transfer credit in the following subject areas (except where otherwise indicated): Biology, Chemistry, Economics, English, French, Geography (Fredericton campus only), German (Fredericton campus only), History, Math and Physics (minimum score of 6 is required in Physics on the Fredericton campus).
IELTS or IELTS Indicator with a minimum overall score of 7.0

The study of English is about the appreciation of language at work. English students explore the impact and possibilities of words as they form into narratives and speak through characters to wider cultural communities at home and across the globe. English offers creative inspiration and critical thinking skills while empowering students to become highly literate in a society that values communication. They will help develop your analytical and communication skills, studying literature will refine your reading, writing, and critical thinking skills, as well as cultivate your love of literature. Through in-class discussions and seminar presentations, youll build strategies for public speaking. As an effective communicator, youll excel in any professional environment and bring a wealth of verbal, analytical, and written strengths to every team dynamic.<br><br>Hands-on learning<br>Internship: use your knowledge to shape the community by applying for an unpaid, for-credit internship. Youll work directly with local organizations and non-profits, including the Charlotte Street Arts Centre and the New Brunswick Film Co-op.<br>Enjoy mentorship opportunities with a work-study position in the department, or on campus<br>Study English literature abroad through UNB's Exchange program<br>Attend small seminar courses where you can passionately engage with unique and focused topics in literature that excite you
