Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB) at Princeton University is unique in its broad and interdisciplinary perspective, with a culture that embraces intellectual curiosity and spans a range of fields. Our faculty members and students join together to unravel the mysteries of how animals, plants, and microbes function, how they interact, and how they evolve in a changing world. EEB's program of study is designed to ensure students get a broad and deep education. The department has requirements for EEB majors while providing ample opportunity for students to tailor their education based on their specific interests. For students interested in field work, the department offers an entire semester abroad in Kenya and Panama to learn about the rich dynamics of the tropics. Every year EEB at Princeton welcomes students from diverse backgrounds and prepares them to be the next generation of world-class scientists. From observing coral reef organisms in Panama to studying the ecology of savannas in Kenya, our multi-disciplinary EEB courses and field study programs are designed to teach students about our planet's complex systems and interactions, and how to apply that knowledge to each student's own unique interests.
