生物化学家喜欢将我们的学科称为“中央科学”。这表达了我们的观点，即生物化学几乎与科学的每个其他领域都重叠。生物化学专业学生所开发的知识和技能可以应用于从亚原子尺度到宇宙最远范围内发现的问题。化学和生物化学系的老师是我的第二个家庭。他们每个人都为促进Propst Hall三楼的研究氛围做出了贡献，并继续推动我发展科学家的基本技能。
Biochemists like to refer to our discipline as the ?central science.? This expresses our view that biochemistry overlaps with almost every other branch of science. The knowledge and skill that a student of biochemistry develops can be applied to problems from the subatomic scale to those found in the farthest reaches of the universe. The chemistry and biochemistry department faculty are my second family. Every one of them has contributed to fostering a research atmosphere on the third floor of Propst Hall and continues to push me to develop essential skills as a scientist.
