国际学生入学条件
The Ph.D. in BMI program invites students who have a strong interest and commitment to scholarly activity and research in Biomedical Informatics to apply for the program here at UNO. Admission to the doctoral program is competitive and based upon several factors that will show the strength of the applicant’s educational background in bioinformatics, health informatics, or a closely related field:
Verbal, quantitative, and analytic scores on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) for aptitude
Letters of Recommendation
Detailed resume that entails the applicants work experience and background
Statement of Purpose (2 pages) that answers within what the applicant hopes to accomplish in the program and why they are applying
Other evidence of graduate potential (e.g. portfolio of quality publications and projects completed by the applicant in an academic or industry setting)
A personal interview, if warranted and feasible
Standardized Test Scores
Applicants must score 310 out of 336 on the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or above the 80th percentile on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).
For applicants who are required to take the TOEFL, a score of at least 577 (paper-based), 233 (computer-based), 90 (iBT), 7.0 (IELTS) or 61 (PTE) is required.
In reviewing applications for admission to the program, the Doctoral Program Committee will consider the applicant's past academic record and scholarly potential as well as the match between the applicant's research interests and those of the IS&T graduate faculty. Students accepted into the Ph.D. in Biomedical Informatics program must be motivated to combine learning across the spectrum of biological and health informatics disciplines.
Two official transcripts from each college or university attended
An official score report from either the GRE or GMAT
Evidence of English language proficiency for international students, demonstrated by official scores on standardized English tests, such as TOEFL or TSE
A Statement of Purpose with attached cover form
Three letters of recommendation from references who are able to give an in-depth evaluation of the applicant's strengths and weaknesses with respect to academic work, and who are competent to judge the applicant's probable success in graduate school. Letter of recommendation must have attached cover forms.
A current resume
Other evidence of graduate potential, if available, in the form of publications or projects completed by the applicant either in an academic or industrial setting.

课程简介
Biomedical Informatics is playing a critical role in enabling this paradigm shift in healthcare, which is leading to an ever increasing demand for trained professionals in the field. Additionally, Our program helps to develop necessary skills to effectively manage and analyze huge bodies of data in the life science domain (which not only includes humans, but also agriculture and veterinary medicine). We believe the best way forward is to support collaboration between multiple disciplines, including experimental and clinical sciences as well as computational. The mission of the doctoral program is to prepare students with the following abilities: Understanding of the theory and application of biomedical informatics focused around the core areas of computer science, medicine, biology, and health care. Knowledge of the analysis, design, development, and implementation of current and future biomedical informatics technologies. Competence in conducting and managing high-quality basic and applied research. Solid grounding in the fundamentals of academic teaching. Strong foundation in multidisciplinary and emergent areas in biomedical informatics.
