Students are accepted into the Comparative Biomedical Sciences program based on their academic records (GPA) as undergraduates and/or as veterinary or medical students, letters of recommendation, and expression of interest in comparative biomedical research. GRE scores are not required, but students can choose to submit them with their application. Scores will only be used to support an application and will not be used to determine a students admission the program. For the Ph.D. program, special consideration will be given to students who have had research experience (either an M.S. degree or other laboratory experience), especially in a biomedical discipline, or students who are completing strong clinical residency programs. Expression of interest in comparative biomedical research (Personal Statement)
Letters of Recommendation IELTS Academic-6.5 or higher (minimum of 6.5 in each sub score), Provide Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a total score of at least 80 on the Internet-based Test (iBT), and with minimum test scores for each section of: Listening 18 points, Reading 18 points, Writing 18 points, Speaking 18 points – for admission , Toefl paper-based test requires a score of 550 or higher (with scores of 50 on at least two of the three sections and no section score below 45). To be considered for admission in full graduate standing, applicants must have: a four-year bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from a regionally accredited college or university. Exceptions to standard accreditation may be granted for applicants with international degrees, including applicants with three-year degrees from institutions in Europe participating in the Bologna Process. a GPA of at least 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) in their undergraduate degrees.

Graduate work in the Population and Global Health concentration aims to train students in population-based methods applied to animal and human health and their intersection. Population health methods are relevant to several research fields including global and public health, clinical and population medicine, and one health. Our faculty are highly collaborative with expertise in epidemiology, computational biology, infectious diseases, microbiome, global health, and animal welfare and production.<br><br>Graduate coursework will include research methods (e.g., epidemiology, computational biology, or bioinformatics) and knowledge-domain courses in the chosen field of study (e.g., animal health, animal welfare, infectious diseases, public health, global health).
