There are two routes of entry available to a PhD.
You have an MSc degree (or equivalent)
You are a talented undergraduate with a BSc (direct entry) or you complete an MSc-to-PhD transfer exam.
1. You have an MSc degree
If you have a MSc, MD, DDS, DVM (or equivalent) degree.
You also need to have:
a minimum A- average in your graduate courses, or in senior-level BSc coursework if MSc course requirements were minimal or absent
evidence of research competence, based on scientific publications, abstracts, or conference presentations.
2. You are a talented undergraduate with a BSc (direct entry) or you complete an MSc-to-PhD transfer exam
You can apply directly to the PhD program if you are a highly qualified BSc graduate meeting the following requirements:
An appropriate bachelor's degree in the Life Sciences from a recognized university
A minimum A average in the third and fourth years
Evidence of strong research experience

Letter of intent
IELTS - Minimum required score 7.0 (Academic) with at least 6.5 for each component.
TOEFL IBT - Overall Score - 93, Writing and Speaking- 22, TOEFL Paper-based Test - Overall Score 580 TWE 5

The graduate program in Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology provides a curriculum of courses and a broad-based multidisciplinary approach to research in mechanisms of human disease leading to Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology offers excellent research training programs that address the nature and molecular mechanisms of human disease. Over 130 faculty memberson campus and at university teaching hospitalsconduct studies and teach courses related to pathobiology and supervise students in the PhD and MSc programs. The department provides a unique academic research environment that encourages interaction among clinicians, scientists, and student trainees. Students can gain an excellent understanding of how discoveries in basic and clinical research settings lead to more effective strategies in the treatment of human illness.<br>From the identification of genetic mutations underlying disease, to the development of prognostic technologies that impact health care delivery, this area of research is critical to the pursuit of personalized and translational medicine. Our researchers uncover how relationships between genes and/or proteins are set and integrated within large molecular networks. These networks ultimately determine the fate of cells and organisms.
