Through hands-on science education and training, we give you the range of skills needed to solve environmental problems in any sector of the human-made and natural world. Youll get hands-on experience in a powerful combination of field and lab courses, where we thoroughly train you for a career in sectors including the environment, consulting, government, non-government, research and teaching. <br>Youll gain the skills to design, implement and report research works, conducted both in labs and the field, and use observations, samples and specimens to collect data. Youll gain in-demand skills needed to thrive in the workforce, including strong abilities using qualitative and quantitative approaches for environmental impact assessments and audits, and climate change modelling and impact assessment. Your diverse skillset will include a solid understanding of statistical reasoning and methods, along with the ability to analyze contaminants and pollutants and apply effective techniques for soil examination and analysis. <br>We also offer a minor that gives you deep insights into the basic principles of environmental science and explores how they can be applied to act on environmental issues. It's a great option if youre in social sciences or management and economics programs. <br>This program has received accreditation by the Environmental Careers Organization (ECO) Canada, in recognition of the extensive number of lab courses and numerous experiential learning opportunities available to our students.
