课程简介
The Kimbell School of Geosciences is the home to Midwestern State University's undergraduate program in Environmental Science and its undergraduate and M.S. program in solid-earth and surface geoscience, fostering education and novel research in these fields. The Kimbell School of Geosciences at Midwestern State University provides students with educational opportunities that prepares them for employment and further education. Courses incorporate the latest technology, information, and research techniques, and provide practical field experience along with classroom instruction. Our graduates pursue vocations in water resource management, environmental assessment and consultation, mining, petroleum production/exploration, fundamental research, and education. Armed with a rigorous understanding of our planet's materials and processes, geoscientists from MSU Texas are able to provide and maintain these resources while expanding our view into the planet.

The Environmental Science track at Midwestern State University is an interdisciplinary degree that provides students with a firm foundation in physical and mathematical sciences. Courses in basic and advanced biology, chemistry, geology, mathematics, and statistics, as well as specific courses in environmental science, prepare our graduates for today's jobs and further education. Those preparing for a career in or an advanced degree that builds on environmental sciences will do so by completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Geosciences, Environmental Sciences Track (GEOE). The actual coursework can focus on geosciences, biology, or chemistry. Regardless of your specific interests, as an Environmental Science student you will be part of the Kimbell School of Geosciences, an exciting and dynamic academic department within the College of Science and Mathematics. Our scholarship and employment opportunities and our facilities are available to you, follow any of the links in the Geosciences Pages bar.

The diverse nature of modern environmental science requires a strong background in a directly applicable science. As a B.S. Geosciences major, Environmental Sciences Track, you can choose one of three concentration options in biology, chemistry, or geosciences. Each option requires additional coursework in that discipline beyond the interdisciplinary requirements, including electives that provide either a broad or specialized view of the Earth and its environments.

The environmental science internship provides invaluable skills and contacts. Our students routinely complete internships locally and nationally, in areas ranging from environmental science education, water sampling and analysis at local and national governmental agencies, environmental testing and consulting, and biological surveying.
