The Faculty of Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences provides solutions to global challenges. We teach our students and conduct our research program to help feed the world, ensure a healthy environment, strengthen individual and community well-being, and nurture bio-resource innovation.This field of study focuses on biological, social, or economic aspects of wilderness conservation, recreation, and tourism. Research topics include: ecosystem management, protected area planning, socioeconomic issues, eco-tourism, interpretation and environmental education.Course requirements for the MSc are based on the student's previous training and the anticipated needs in the student's area of specialization. Requirements are REN R 603 and REN R 604 seminar plus a minimum of ★6 of courses at the 500- or 600-level. Additional courses may be required at the discretion of the student's supervisor. Course work should include at least ★3 in research methods, statistics, and/or experimental design, which may be taken at the undergraduate or 700-level, but in that case will not count toward the ★6 course requirement at the 500- or 600-level. Courses may be drawn from those listed for the Department of Renewable Resources, and from other Departments within the University.
