Prospective first-year students must:
Have a 3.00 recalculated grade point average (GPA) (a B or better where A= 4.00) from a secondary school.
Please note: GPA recalculation occurs during the admissions evaluation process.
Have three years of high school work.
Please note: If you are currently in high school, the University of Arizona needs to see 9–11 grade work. If you have completed high school then Arizona needs to see 10–12 grade work.
Have and present a completed high school diploma or certificate.
Official college/university transcripts from each international institution you have attended will be required at the time of enrollment.
If you have attended any college or university outside of the United States during or post-high school, unofficial transcripts from each institution you have attended are sufficient for initial evaluation.
Unofficial transcripts are sufficient for initial evaluation. At any time, you may be contacted to submit official/verified transcripts.
Official transcripts showing grades for all years of secondary/high school and official exam results or certificates from your country will be required before you enroll at the University of Arizona.

Students learn content similar to what they will encounter in their first year as undergraduate students and thereby improve their language abilities. They also enroll in a CESL-supported general education course for credit, this course will count toward any major at University of Arizona.
With CESL's English Language Endorsement, students in the U-Track Pathway can fulfill UA's minimum English language proficiency requirement without taking an additional TOEFL or IELTS exam.

The Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science equips students to design, implement and test programs that solve significant and meaningful problems. Students learn how to collaborate to develop large software systems and can explain the purpose, design and implementation of programs. Graduates are able to design and analyze algorithms and can evaluate the correctness and performance of computer programs. To earn this B.A., students must start as Pre-computer Science majors and complete a core set of classes. No application is required to progress from Pre-computer Science to Computer Science. The B.A. curriculum requires students to study a second language proficiency and take natural science courses.<br><br>LEARNING OUTCOMES<br>Programming, Graduates can design, implement, and test programs that solve significant and meaningful problems, making appropriate design choices that best meet given requirements.<br>Reasoning, Graduates can design and analyze algorithms and reason about the correctness and performance of computer programs.<br>Communication and Collaboration, Graduates can develop large software systems as part if a team, and can document and explain the purpose, design, and implementation of programs.
