Prospective first-year students must:
Have a 3.00 recalculated grade point average (GPA) (a B or better where A= 4.00) from a secondary school.
Please note: GPA recalculation occurs during the admissions evaluation process.
Have three years of high school work.
Please note: If you are currently in high school, the University of Arizona needs to see 9–11 grade work. If you have completed high school then Arizona needs to see 10–12 grade work.
Have and present a completed high school diploma or certificate.
Official college/university transcripts from each international institution you have attended will be required at the time of enrollment.
If you have attended any college or university outside of the United States during or post-high school, unofficial transcripts from each institution you have attended are sufficient for initial evaluation.
Unofficial transcripts are sufficient for initial evaluation. At any time, you may be contacted to submit official/verified transcripts.
Official transcripts showing grades for all years of secondary/high school and official exam results or certificates from your country will be required before you enroll at the University of Arizona.

Students learn content similar to what they will encounter in their first year as undergraduate students and thereby improve their language abilities. They also enroll in a CESL-supported general education course for credit, this course will count toward any major at University of Arizona.
With CESL's English Language Endorsement, students in the U-Track Pathway can fulfill UA's minimum English language proficiency requirement without taking an additional TOEFL or IELTS exam.

Combine a fascination with the past, a love of reading and an appreciation for the complexities of the human experience with this widely applicable degree. History is a field of study that touches every corner of the globe and stretches back in time thousand of years. Students are encouraged to embrace their curiosity to pursue an individualized course of learning in this Bachelor of Arts program. Classwork balances the examination of the documented past with an evaluation of competing historic interpretations. Students enjoy opportunities to specialize their degree with internships at museums and historical institutions, as well as study abroad programs. Upon graduation, students pursue a diverse variety of professions, armed with skills such as critical thinking, writing, public speaking and problem-solving.<br><br>LEARNING OUTCOMES<br>Write clear, well-organized prose.<br>Conduct historical research, including appropriate use of primary sources, to provide properly documented evidence to support an argument.<br>Recognize and evaluate competing historical interpretations.
