First-year students: To be eligible for admission, freshman students must have met/be on track to meet all upper/senior secondary school requirements with the equivalent of a 2.5 GPA to be automatically considered for admission to undergraduate programs. Secondary school students/graduates: Please submit academic transcripts/mark sheets for grades 9-12 and secondary school leaving certificates, exam results or diplomas showing secondary school completion (if applicable).
Students who have completed at least one semester (12 U.S. credits) of university or post-secondary study: university transcript/mark sheets/exam results listing all courses, grades and credits/hours and diplomas/graduation certificates (if applicable). 课程简介
The University of Montana Sociology program includes a broad range of topics and issues. At the undergraduate level, students can focus on General Sociology, Criminology, or Inequality and Social Justice. At the graduate level, students can focus on General Sociology, Criminology, Inequality and Social Justice, or Rural and Environmental Change. Faculty and student interests range from social issues facing local communities, to national questions about the impact of legislation on poverty programs or the causes of criminal behavior, to global concerns such as climate change and worldwide structures of inequality. We offer both an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and the only Master of Arts degree in Sociology in the state of Montana.<br><br>The general Sociology major provides a broad foundation in sociological theory and research, together with exposure to a variety of courses in the main substantive areas of the discipline.<br>Students interested in crime and criminal justice can choose an option in Criminology, while students concerned with the causes and consequences of social inequality can select an option in Inequality and Social Justice.
