Leadership has been identified as one of the most pressing challenges facing organizations, communities and social institutions in the 21st century. Gannon's leadership studies program addresses this challenge by fostering the development of leadership capacity among students reared in a culture increasingly self-conscious about issues of social responsibility, global stewardship, entrepreneurial opportunities and community service. As a leadership studies minor you will gain an understanding of how social scientists study the dynamics of leadership to formulate theory, and how to apply this knowledge in a variety of professional, organizational and community contexts. You will be equipped with the knowledge and skills required to assess, develop and exercise leadership capacity in a wide range of vocational and occupational roles. You will become adept at understanding organizational culture, designing leadership interventions, and affecting institutional change.
