To be admitted to an undergraduate degree program as a regular freshman student, you must be a graduate from an approved or accredited high school (GED certificate may not be used for admission) and satisfy the below requirements:
You must have a 3.0 weighted GPA in the academic core courses in order to be admitted to the University of Nevada, Reno. The academic courses include: English, math, social sciences and natural sciences. A weighted GPA takes into account the extra difficulty of honors, AP or IB classes.

If you are not admissible, you will be offered enrollment to a Nevada NSHE Community College. You will be offered admission to a Nevada university once you have completed a minimum of 24 college transferable semester credits at a NSHE Community College and have a 2.5 GPA in all your coursework.

If you are a student who does not meet our academic GPA requirements, but have graduated with an Advanced Diploma from a Nevada high school, you will be granted admission to the University. You must also meet the 13 core course requirements in English, mathematics, social studies and natural sciences to be considered for admission.

You must submit your final, official high school transcripts to support your application for admission.

The Marketing Department offers a major in Marketing that aims to provide students strategic insight and practical tactics for one of the most vital components of modern business. Marketing students will acquire the knowledge and skill sets to identify and satisfy customer needs to help organizations achieve their marketing goals. The specific topics are broadly categorized into those of product, pricing, promotion and distribution strategies, evolving around the understanding of consumers. Students will also learn how to conduct marketing research, and apply modern marketing tools and strategies. We also offer a number of elective courses that fulfill more specific needs of our students.<br><br>Marketing is both a social and managerial process that helps companies to execute mutually beneficial exchanges with their customers. It is how firms create sustainable competitive advantage, superior value and enjoy long-term growth. Graduates entering into the workforce with the Marketing major are equipped with a strong foundation in business and the tools to build and execute a successful marketing plan for any sized business. Employment opportunities include marketing manager, media analyst, sales representative, purchasing agent, pricing analyst, brand manager, market research expert, logistics manager, operations supervisor, retailing manager and many others.
