Master's degree in any discipline, with minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 out of 4.3.
Students applying from Canadian universities must have maintained at least a 3.5 average for their final two years of studies. Students from other countries must, in their final two years, have obtained the equivalent, from an accredited university.

Submit the results of previous terms and a list of your current courses*
Include mid-year grades if they're available*

Important information for Fast-track applicants:
Top students enrolled in John Molson's Master of Science programs who have completed all program requirements except for the thesis may apply for permission to proceed directly (‘Fast-track') to doctoral studies in the same discipline without submitting a Master's thesis. These students are expected to meet the same PhD program requirements as all other students.
A GMAT score of 640 or better.

A student whose primary language is not English must write a pre-admissions English proficiency test. We accept the following language tests and minimum scores:

TOEFL iBT: 95 overall with no band under 20,
IELTS Academic: 7.0 overall with no band under 6.5,
Where the testing centres have been closed due to COVID-19 safety measures, we have been accepting the Duolingo online exam instead of the TOEFL iBT or IELTS Academic exams.

CV / Resume
Although work experience is not required, applicants must provide a copy of their CV / resume showing education, professional experience and achievements, including internships and volunteering.
Statement of purpose
Applicants must provide a Statement of purpose (approximately 500 words) indicating their reason for choosing the program and specialization, their research interests and career goals, and how the program will contribute to achieving those goals.

The John Molson School of Business in affiliation with École des Hautes Études Commerciales de Montreal, McGill University, and Universite du Quebec à Montreal, has offered a joint PhD in Business Administration since 1976. The 5 year full-time program provides students with access to more than 300 professors qualified to supervise doctoral studies. Students in the joint program also have access to the affiliated universities' library systems, computer facilities, and presentations by internationally recognized researchers.<br><br>The PhD program in marketing provides students with the skills to conduct original and independent research in the field of marketing.
