All applicants must have the equivalent of a 2.00 U.S. GPA or higher. A high school diploma is not required for students who are 18 years old or older.
All applicants must be 17 years old or older by their first semester start date. Students who are under 18 must submit a copy of the minor forms below with their application, and a copy of their high school diploma before the program start date.
Secondary School and/or College or University
Submit a copy of your transcript.
Studied for a minimum of 3 years in English at an international secondary school.
Attended a US high school or secondary school in a country where English is the primary language of instruction for at least one year.
Completed all years of study in a secondary school in Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, German, or Dutch countries and received passing grades in English.
Attended a U.S. college or university for at least one semester (non-ESL courses).
Attended at least one semester of non-ESL courses at a college or university where English is the primary language of instruction.
Standardized Tests:
Submit a copy of your test result showing one of the minimum scores listed below.
Cambridge: B2 (scale 160-180)
Duolingo: 90
IB English exam: 5
IELTS: 5.5
PTE Academic: 44
TOEFL: PBT 450, CBT 160, IBT 60
TOEIC: 850 or higher on both exams (Reading/Listening and Writing/Speaking)
English Language Schools:
Submit a copy of your language school certificate or transcript showing successful completion of one of the ESL levels listed below.
American Language Institute: Level 4
Converse International School of Languages: Level B2

The Music Department offers a comprehensive program designed to provide a wide variety of musical experience for both the general college student, and the student seeking a career as a professional musician.<br><br> It provides the music major with a thorough basis in the creative (theory, composition, interpretation) and recreative (performance, applied music, history, and appreciation) process.<br><br> For those interested in the commercial music field, the department offers a certificate program with courses in jazz, sound recording and electronic music, song writing and arranging.<br><br>Demonstrate the ability to describe significant genres of music, using appropriate music staff notation and vocabulary.<br>Aurally identify characteristic elements of music.<br>Demonstrate the ability to analyze and critically evaluate a musical performance.<br>Demonstrate a basic understanding of and skill level in the use of music technology.<br>Demonstrate effective communication skills in music notation and written assignments.<br>Identify significant social, cultural, aesthetic and historical trends in music and assess the implications and consequences of these trends.<br>Demonstrate the ability to perform through participation in Music Department vocal and/or instrumental group.
